US actress excoriates Trump at Golden Globes

Prominent actress Meryl Streep slams US President-elect Donald Trump at Golden Globe awards ceremony.

US President-elect Donald Trump is criticized over mocking disability by the country’s famous actress at 2017 Golden Globe Awards ceremony.

During an awards acceptance speech at the US event on Sunday, Meryl Streep said she was “stunned” when Trump mocked New York Times disabled reporter, Serge Kovaleski, in November 2015.

Streep denounced Trump’s presidential campaign rhetoric and criticized him for making fun of the disabled reporter, who has a condition that affects his joint movements.

“There was one performance this year that stunned me. It sank its hooks in my heart, Streep said, adding, “It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter. “

The award-winning actress also highlighted that “it kind of broke my heart when I saw it and I still can't get it out of my head because it wasn't in a movie, it was real life... When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose,” Streep said in another apparent reference to Trump.

US-President elect Donald Trump, however, has denied he was mocking the reporter.

Streep made the nearly 6-minute address at the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills, California, while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award for a lifetime of notable work.

Meryl Streep surely speaks up for more than just the 'Liberals" as Trump would like us to think. We are much smarter than what Trump takes us for. Shame on Trump
